How long have you been with Metrics Contract Services?

One year

What is your role?

Analytical Chemist I

What accomplishment/project/area of work is your specialty or makes you proud?

Something I am proud of is that our Quality Control Team gets to work with many different products. Experience with different methods has and currently is making me a more well-rounded analyst.

Are there any special organizational strategies you use to be efficient at work?

The biggest thing I would say is to prepare the day before. Collect/label all glassware, gather necessary reagents/materials, familiarize myself with the method I will be performing, look at old write-ups and data to know what I should be expecting. This will potentially help find any issues before starting the day.

What are your team’s latest achievements?

Finalizing registration/process validation for two important drugs that are almost ready for launch. We have steadily increased our routine product release and stability testing since I have started, and our team works diligently to find a rhythm in testing to produce results with high quality and efficiency.

How do you think those accomplishments might impact the contract pharmaceutical industry and the industry at large?

It will enable us to be more competitive in the contract pharmaceutical industry by having a broader range of products to test with high quality and efficiency. I also believe that it might impact the industry at large because we will soon have more products available to clients and patients who might need it.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is knowing the products we are producing are ultimately improving the quality of life for people.

What is the best piece of advice you ever received from one of your mentors/colleagues?

Focus on the positive. Stress the positive things because it will make your job more enjoyable. Worrying about the negatives may cause you to become overwhelmed.
